You were perfect...
for a little while.
You were everything I wanted
Everything you are.
Everything you are.
Only now
you're everything I don't.
Where you used to be kind
now you're just mean.
Where you used to be home
now your never here.
Where you used to say you love me
I just don't believe the loves there.
You were perfect...
for a little while.
But now that time is gone.
So I guess
all that's left
is for me
to move on.
I'm not sure you'd want me to comment on editing mistakes, but switch "your" to "you're" in the line "now your never here." Also, it should be "love's" instead of "loves" in "the loves there."
ReplyDeleteEditing aside, I like your poem. I like how you pause after "you were perfect." Often, someone you love seems perfect until you've been with them for a while, then you see the imperfection. Depending on what the problem is, you can see their imperfections and still love them and continue to work together to make a lasting relationship.
It's a poem before me and Erik got married. You know when we were going through some drama.
